Every piece has a story: who made it and when, who wore it, what it says about its era, and why a collector would want it. Viv researches that story from your photographs and lays out the evidence behind each finding, so you verify instead of starting from scratch.

Works alongside your crosslister. Viv does the research; your listings go out the way they do today.

Viv tells you how sure she is. You make the call.

Viv works like a well-read colleague at the next bench, telling you what the photographs support and what would take a loupe in hand to settle.

  • Tells the story. Who designed the piece, who made it, who wore it, and why collectors want it. That story is what sells vintage, and Viv digs it out for you.
  • Shows its sources. Every attribution and comparable links back to where it came from.
  • Weighs the evidence. Five competing explanations, ranked against each other, with the gaps named.
  • Leaves the price to you. Viv suggests a range from current asking prices for comparable pieces. You set yours, with your notes kept alongside.

Viv works from your photographs and tells you how confident she is. The final call, and the price, stay with you.

  • High confidence

Attribution, line and era agree across multiple independent sources and the photographed marks.

  • Moderate confidence

The leading explanation is well supported, but a specific detail, often the exact date, is still open.

  • Insufficient evidence

Viv says so, lists what is missing, and suggests which photograph or mark would settle it.

Some things still need your hands and a loupe. Viv is designed to get you to that moment faster, with better questions.

Built for apparel, jewelry and decor sellers.

For vintage sellers with a backlog they cannot get through, because every unfamiliar label, mark or maker means an hour of research before the piece can be listed. Viv takes on that first hour so the pile moves.

The private beta starts in November. If you have the time and the interest to run real pieces through Viv, tell us where she gets things wrong, and help shape what she becomes, we would like to hear from you. Testers get founder pricing when Viv launches.

Up front: Viv does not post to marketplaces yet, and price comparables are current asking prices.
